Coming up April 4, 2020!
This is the 10th Anniversary of the Jim Adams Memorial Ride — the JAMR. The JAMR is ABATE of Idaho’s main fundraising event; and its proceeds fund our legislative efforts.
Proceeds from the JAMR are split between ABATE of Idaho and the VFW Post #63 in Boise.
The Traveling Fireball Firefighter helmet
Included in the raffle items this year is the world-renowned Traveling Fireball Firefighter helmet!
For those of you that don’t know, Jim volunteered for a few years as a firefighter for the Lake Tapps FD when he lived in Washington.
He also loved drinking Fireball whiskey, and when he moved to Idaho he introduced Fireball to some fellow biker friends.
In 2013, Victor’s Hogs and Horns in Caldwell received the Fireball Firefighter Helmet from their representative as a donation for the 2013 JAMR. The combination was a great way to pay tribute to Jim, since he loved both the fire department and Fireball.
The Pipe Hitter MC made the winning bid for the helmet in 2013 for $350. Pipe Hitter MC generously re-donated the helmet that year to raise additional funds for the next year’s JAMR.
In 2014, the Colpitts family bid for and won the helmet for $100 and re-donated for the 2015 JAMR to continue the tradition. In 2015, the helmet was won by Termite and Tyler for $400. 2016 saw the helmet go to Tyler Ruehl for $300 and again it was re-donated for the next year. Kujo from CVMA 13-4 Payette won the helmet in 2017 for $200 and again re-donated the helmet.
That year the helmet was placed in a display case with name plates showing the history of who purchased the helmet, the year of the donation, and the amount. For the 2018 JAMR, a Fireman coffee cup was added to the Traveling Fireball Firefighter Helmet case by Big Steve and Donna.
In 2018, Roots and Company won the bidding with a bid of $500. 2019 saw the helmet go to Iron Cross Warriors for $1025. Iron Cross Warriors requested that the helmet be placed at Cruisin’ Biker Wear so everyone could see it.
This year’s auction of the Traveling Fireball Firefighter Helmet should put its total donation value over the years at over $3000!
